How Do I Get My Mums Attention?

my mums always working late, and whenever she's going out i never get told, but my sister does. and also her Boyfriend has just moved in so its kind of weird, he's always telling because he's always telling us to eat lunch because we missed breakfast. i hate it! and i live abroad so i never see my dad as much as what i want to, its really hard, and my sister never respects me either. the only person who listens to me is my dog, in england! what to do?! and i really like spending time with my mum, but shes late and out all of the time! What should i do?

It's GREAT that you want to have a relationship with your mom---wish I was as smart as you! What you can do is get up in the morning with her,try and talk with her. If she seems preoccupied you could always try writing a note. Writing has always been my thing---it's easier for me to get my point across and you can make sure you "say" everything you want to.

If your mom is out a lot, you need to tell her you need to talk with her, and tell her you want to "make an appointment" for when she has free time to sit and listen to you.  When you are able to talk with her, you need to be honest and tell her how you feel.  Ask her if you can set up a time once a week to spend special time with her.  Your mom probably doesn't realize how busy she really has been, or how much you miss her.
