  1. If it is a wild caught, it could just be a small bass, bluegill, perch etc.  If it was left over from fishing, that is a different story.  I often dumped them into one of my aquariums and used them as food for my eels (sorry)  If the water is cold enough they should do fine.  Minnows need extreamly cool water where most fish would begin to hybernate.  That is the main problem you will face.  What kind of sucker fish do you have?  As far as parasites like ich, that isn't true.  These fish are very healthy.  Cool water, high dissolved oxygen, flake, worms, algae wax or mill worms work well as food.  There shouldn't be a problem between the three just the temperatures.

  2. You don't cause they are usually diseased and they will just die and kill everyone with it!!  Beside aren't they supposed to be used for fishing??

  3. How big is the minnow, snail, and the sucker fish?  If the snail won't fit in either fishes mouth (and isn't getting constantly nipped) it should be fine.  As for the minnow and the suckerfish, if neither one will fit in the others mouth they should be fine.  I have had minnows in my fish tank, never any problems.  Is this minnow wild or store bought?  the onees in the store, especially feeders, tend to have diseases (mostly ich) and a quarentine period would be highly advisable.  The wild ones tend to be healthiest (as long as it is a minnow and not a baby fish).  The sick wild ones have no medicines to delay the disease and die before you can usually catch them.

    Good luck!

  4. ok now I have heard it all easly_a where did you copy and paste that garbage from

fist off what kind of minnow is it or do you know if it is a wild minnow I would advise agenest putting it in your tank since it can carry parisites and other things that may kill your other fish

there are several types of minnows the are kept in home tanks some stay small like the neons and some get very large like the bala shark to tell you how to care for it properly would need to know what kind it is

  5. Minnows are small, active schooling fish well suited of the community aquarium. Long finned varieties as well as different color forms of these fish have been developed through selective breeding, making Minnows very appealing to aquarists new and old alike. These hardy fish are most often used to cycle a new aquarium, as they are more tolerant of a wide range of water conditions. Minnows are also used in aquariums to help bring out the more reclusive species that tend to hide among the décor in the well-planted or highly decorated community aquarium. Found predominately in Malaysia, Sumatra, China, and India, most species are farm raised in both the Far East and the U.S. Danios and Minnows require plenty of swimming room and a tight fitting lid, as they are prone to leaping out of the aquarium when startled.
