I've recently been trying hard to make a cue ball curve but with no success at all. I would like to know if any of you out there know how to make the ball curve.

  1. Don't over chalk, and strike the ball in the lower corner in a downward motion.  You want to put enough english on the ball that it will spin off, but not so much that you don't get any distance.  Cue placement should be in the opposite corner you intend the ball to curve so if you want it to curve off to the right, strike downward in the lower left of the cue ball.

  2. Yeah, I'd listen to trickshottim if I were you, lol.

  3. Chalk up well.  You'll aim down into the cue ball so it looks like you'll stroke through the slate of the table.  This means your back (grip) hand is elevated.  For slight curves, the cue stick could make anywhere from a 30-45 degree angle with the table.  For extreme masses, even higher elevations will do, even 90 degrees, but I wouldn't recommend trying this unless you get the smaller curves down first.

Stroke firmly through the cue ball to load it up with side spin.  If you hit it on the left, the cue ball should squirt out to the right and curve back left.  Or vice versa if you hit it on the right.  Top and bottom will also affect the final path of the cue ball, depending on how far down table you want it to go.
