  1. Volleyball is SO much fun, and the more you try the better results you get. Make sure you put give 100% and talk to the caoch introduce yourself. Call for the ball and don't be afraid to do what the other kids aren't doing if you know it's right! Good Luck!

  2. Camp is a great part of your answer.

As mentioned in another answer, call every ball.  Even in the drills.  Even in pepper.  And call it LOUDLY like you really mean it.

Hustle on every play, even if you are not directly involved.  (For example, most teams use hitting lines.  Most people hit the ball and then walk or jog to get their volleyball if they do it at all.  RUN to get yours and get back in the line.  It will show your hustle and you will get more reps than anyone else.)

Encourage your team mates.  NEVER say anything negative at the try outs.  You never know who is listening and it will get to the coach.  You want to show a positive attitude.  Attitude is VERY, VERY important.  If you have roughly the same ability as someone with a negative attitude, you will be on the team and Miss Negativity will be at home.

If the coach suggests that you change something, your answer is "thank you, I will work on that" and mean it.  Do not look away and/or roll your eyes.  The coach is looking for teachable.  Again, if it comes down to someone who is willing to listen and learn or to someone who already knows everything, you will be on the team.

    Good luck.

  3. Just practice it's easy. I love playing volleyball, And just try out if you don't make it then just practice that's the KEY!!!!

  4. If u work hard and practice then you make it!

  5. When you go to camp try really hard. If it's hosted by the coaches of the team, try to get your face in their heads, so they will remember you during tryouts. Work hard, try your best, give it your all, and have lots of heart. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

  6. Effort, effort, effort!

You're not going to become an amazing volleyball player overnight.

To begin with, you're going to need to start training and eating like a volleyball player.

You'll defintiley need to cut back on sweets! Especially soda, you can say goodbye to that while in season.

For school I practiced two nights a week, and for club volleyball I practiced three times. It's a big commitment, but if you're ready to make it, then there is no stopping you.

I warm up by running on the tredmile for about half an hour, doing a couple jumping jacks, push ups, crunches, ext. As soon as I'm pumped up and ready to go, I jump rope, then run three miles outside if the weather's nice.

The key is excercising, practicing skills, and eating healthy!

Once you're in shape and ready for camp, you have to make sure the coaches remember your face and name.

As mentioned several times, CALL THE BALL, LOUDLY. Coaches love that, and whatever you do, don't be silent. Whether you're saying 'Mine!' or 'Spaghetti!' do whatever you can to make sure the other players know you're going to hit the ball.

Don't be afraid to hit, you have to constantly be in ready position, not standing up like a stick. If you miss the ball, try again. Dive for the ball, do a pancake, whatever works for you best. But you have to put all you effort into it. Don't be ashamed at your mistakes, instead, go back and correct them! And most importantly, no fear. You're going to have to go out there and do the dang thing, even if it means looking like an idiot. If you put all your effort into volleyball, it will really show. Coaches don't like people who have attitudes or slouch down when they miss a ball. You have to hustle whenever somebody tells you to come, high five the other girls/boys when they hit the ball, and high five them even harder when they miss. And most importantly, grin and bear it. Even if you don't like the drill, smile and act like you do. Put all your heart into the game. Volleyball doesn't come easily, you have to work for it.

  7. just dont b afraid of hitting the ground for a ball dive for it coaches like the effort!

  8. 1. develop the basic skills. Setting, passing, hitting. An overhand serve will go a long way.

    2. Join club/camps. You're doing that, so thats a good way to get skills!

    3. Look the part. Wear the spandex shorts, and a camp t-shirt. And knee pads, of course! Don't wear, basketball shorts, tank-tops, and your hair down.

    4. Make the effort. Dive and hustle.

    5. Be happy! Cheer people on, and stay positive.

    6. Call the ball

    7. Show off your skills (overhand serve, spike, backset)

    8. Focus on every move (they all count!)

    9. Look coachable. If they tell you something, do it!

    10. Smile!

  9. Just work hard and keep trying and practice alot. And all the work you've done it will pay off.

  10. Show determination and commitment. Show up early practice stay after a couple minutes extra

ASK questions when you dont get something or if your doing right.

& hustle 100 percent of the time

if coaches see hustle theyll see that you want to improve and would be commited. also ask one of the highschool girls to practice with you. it will make you better

good luck im going to volleyball camp next week top =)

  11. well give it your all and don't have the coach think that your not trying your hardest. and if you don't feel that you will make it you can alway's suck up to the coach.

  12. dont worry about spiking as much as fundamental passing and setting. make sure u try ur hardest and hussle every where. make sure to call the ball, that looks really good. good luck. :)

  13. I'm in the same boat i have tryouts in a few weeks--I've been going to open gyms and what i've learned is you need to run everywhere and i mean run, shag as many balls as you can, be respectful of the coach, don't talk while he or she is talking, listen and don't question there advice, call the ball, make a good bump to the setter, call free balls, and out of bounds balls, show enthusiasm, be open and willing to learn, improve, and accept advice from the other girls, get down and ready when the coach tells you to or just be ready at all times! DONOT have a bad attitude that doesn't set well with coaches, and most importantly just try your hardest and show them what you have...Good Luck and remember HAVE FUN!!

  14. practice.
