How Do I Put My Whammy Bar Into My guitar?

I have a a Fender Squire Strat theres a s***w in hole i tried that and it still don't seem to work (it came with a spring and two allen keys) some people say look inside the back cover (so it's open now what do i do?)

  1. Your bridge has to support the whammy bar. A good deal of Fender guitars use 'floating' bridges, which is just a fancy term for being spring-bound, allowing for pitch bending via the whammy bar. If your guitar's bridge can be bent up and down at the end, chances are it's a floating bridge, and you're just s******g in the whammy bar the wrong way (think 'rightie tightie, lefty loosie'). Otherwise, you may be out of luck, unless you decide to get a new bridge (ie. A floating, or even a Floyd Rose) installed.
