How Do I Record Music. What do i need and what do i to do to record my self playing different

What do i need and what do i to do to record my self playing different instruments and to be able to put it on the computer in high quality.

And please don't say use garage band on the mac because i don't have a mac.

There are many ways to do this.  There are great "stand alone" digital recorders out there now.  Very simple but run about $200 and up.  These have built in mics.

  There are also "computer audio interfaces" that have mic inputs and a USB connection to your computer.  A little more complicated than a "stand alone" but pretty easy anyway.
