I am not from the city and I have only rode the bus one time, I got tired of waiting on a bus to come back that I just walked home, it was only 4 miles. My car has recently broke down and I have a 4 year old that I have to get to day care. I took a cab today and it was $35 just to get to day care and to work. I am a single parent so I cannot afford to do that everyday. My question is, how do I ride the bus and the train? I cannot understand the whole process of going somewhere on marta if you cant tell them where you are going. My sons daycare is about 4 streets over and my job is about 10 miles from home. I know this is a dumb question but I cannot figure it out. PLEASE HELP ME!!

  1. It's really not that hard. Try using the trip planner on their website which gives fairly decent route informations & directions. Thankfully the MARTA system is one with many options for getting around unlike many systems elsewhere. The MARTA buses and rail lines work together and use the same fare basis so combining a trip with both modes isn't rough. Just allow plenty of time since transfers are often necessary when traveling in the Atlanta metro area. Good luck.

  2. Assuming  you're in Atlanta:

go to http://www.itsmarta.com/ and put in your location and destination.  It will tell you which route to take.

  3. Another good information for you to put down is what country, state & city you are from.  Most of us do not know what Marta is.
