Practice, practice and then practice some more.   Watch billiards on ESPN.  Check listings for times.

hold the left side of your mouse down on the pool stick and haul the mouse back when you want to execute you shot just lift your fingert of the mouse

for a straight shot,  line the ball you want to sink up with a pocket. then, align the cue to extend the line, hit the ball dead center, with english up or down if you want to follow through, or roll the cue ball back.

ps:if you are new don't try postitioning to start off with. just try you're best at shooting and the positioning skill will come graddually

well you look for your best shot, the one with the best chance of having the ball go in, and then based on that you aim the cue ball at a certain part of the ball trying to make it strike the ball in such a way that it goes in.
