Please don't tell me to get a professional trainer or a new vacuum or don't clean anymore. I'm looking for a simpler answer that could work.

  1. Have someone sit in a room with them and pet them while the vacuum is on (not moving around yet cause that comes later) then move the vacuum closer and closer to them (over several different days while the person is petting them and see if that helps. It teaches them that the vacuum is more soothing rather then a thing to bark at. It will take several  tries but they will eventually get over their fear.

  2. I have a cat that will run and hide under a bed the minute see sees the vacuum. With dogs, I'd just put them outside. Leased or pinned in of course.

  3. It would be simpler to just put them outside if possible, or just put them in a room and close the door until you are finished. My dogs (I have 2) run and hide when they see me pull it out of the closet. By the time I turn the vacuum on, they are nowhere to be found!

  4. Some dogs will always bark at vacuums (Back, you noisy monster!). And it sounds like your three are among them. The easiest thing would probably be to close them away while you're vacuuming. If you have a dog run outside, you might even put them in it for a little play time while you're working.

    Good luck!
