Ok, I've got the source -> switch -> GFCI -> Light

I need to have the light controlled by the switch, and the GFCI always on. How would I go about wiring this?

  1. run the wiring to the switch, but piggy back off of the wires to the gfci then from the switch to the light.

so wires--->switch--> wires from same side of switch to outlet.  wires from other side of switch to light

  2. You will only need a 2 conductor (with ground) cable.  Your hot leg (black wire) should split inside your switch junction box with one lead going to the switch and the other going to the outlet.  Run the black from the switch to the light.  Gang together the white from the light, the white from the outlet and the white from your source.  Be sure to connect all grounds.
