I have some school books (like they are on adobe and they are virtual books and stuff) that are installed on my computer. I want to know how can I back these things on a cd or flash or whatever? In case my computer crashes before school starts I want to have a back up file. I do not want to reinstall Windows because I took my computer to the school like a week ago and when I get to school we are all on a shared network so don't wanna give anyone a virus. So my q is; how do i back up Allmy files, software, etc? And how can I restore them back on my computer? I have limewire and if that gives me a virus i want to delete everything so virus goes away and then restore everything. Thanx!

  1. If you have your flash drive, plug it into the USB port on your computer. (doesnt matter which one) and then either a window will pop up or it won't, either way just go to the place where the files are stored that you want to backup and then right click and there should be an option to "send to removable disk" or something. If there is no option like this then you might have to manually copy and paste the files in. Drop me an email if you need anymore help.

  2. Well, I would recommend using an external hard drive and basically you would 'copy and paste' your files to it. However, copy and pasting files is tedious to do all the time and you would want an application to handle this for you. I recommend Cobian Backup 9, it's a free and easy to use program to automate the back up process.

Cobian Backup 9 is a free, open-source software which I use to automate the process of backing up. It can be used to schedule and backup your files and directories from their original location to other directories/drives in the same computer, external hard drive or other computer in your network.
