How Do I get an insurance license?

Question

How many hours of class is required for a FLORIDA insurance license? how many different types of licenses are there? Which one do I need if I just want to get commission? help please.

I work at an insurance company now but I dont get commission because I dont have an insurance license.

the type that you need will depend on the type you want to sell-- life /health / auto (P&C). You also have the option of VL, but you will need at least a Series 6 license to deal with mutual funds. That is another test & fee. You will also need to have a company sponsor you for the Series 6/7/66 licenses.

If the company you work for wont give you any info, its time to roll out! As a producer you will be making them money by selling, if they have you selling without a license, they can be in deep doo-doo, legally speaking (I think that is the actual legal term! :)). Find a company that will work with you to help get licensed.

You can go to the florida department of insurance and it will tell you what license you need to sell what typ of insurance. It will all so tell you where the classies are offerd and anything else you need to know.

What products do you want to sell?  The basic types of licenses are property/casualty, life/accident/health, and a variety of investment licenses (Series 6, etc).  

You visit the FL insurance department website for the specifics on how to get each kind of license.  You will have to pass a test, also.`
