Ok well to make a long story short, I went to the beach for the day, my minerature schnauzer "Snickers" got locked in my room. She got scared and peed and pooed in my room and it sat their for 7 hours. As Soon as I walked into the house, i could smell it, so I picked up the poo and blotted the pee with a cloth. Ive tried everything and nothing seems to be able to get rid of the pungent salmon smelling urine smell that has been left behind. So far Ive used oxy pet odour and stain remover, and a febreeze candle and the harsh smell of the urine is still there. Please, do you have any remedies or ways to get rid of the smell or urine. PLEASE HELP!

  1. I drench the area with OxiClean Laundry Stain Remover spray and press a towel (by stepping on it) on top, let set for a few hours.

  2. I agree with Nature's Miracle. But, you do need to soak the stain as the urine itself probably stained down to the wood floor underneath. Let it sit for a while then use a sponge or brush to clean the stain. Worst comes to worst, cut out the carpet where the stain is and replace it.

  3. I use vinegar

  4. Try making a paste of baking soda and vinger, spread the paste on the spot and scrub it in well, then let it sit for a night. Once done get your vacuum and suck up the baking soda. Then take hot water and soap and scrub the spot. Once done add so lysol disinfectant spray. Your done. Good luck

  5. It's just about impossible to completely remove the smell of urine from carpet, especially if it sat for that amount of time.  Once it saturates the carpet and sinks into the secondary backing of the carpet and into the pad the only way to absolutely remove the smell 100% is remove the carpet and pad.  That's no lie.  I work for a restoration contractor and I've seen it time and time again.  All of those gimmicks and info mercials for urine spotters and treatments DO NOT remedy the problem.  They only cover up the smell, like body deodorant, in a way.  If you were to ever have your carpet shampooed after using those products the water would only reactivate the smell and you would be back to square one.  p**s = Problems.

  6. I had a renter in a house that swore their cats were litter trained.  I (stupid me) agree she could have them inside. They stayed 13 mo.  The house stunk so bad. I had a professional carpet cleaner in.  He did the best he could but said that cat and dog urine never completely goes away.  We pulled up all the carpet. Moral of the story- "keep pets outside where God made them to be in the first place. They are happier and your house is nice and sanitized.

  7. Natures Miracle. You can get it at Petco, Petsmart etc. It is not immediate. It takes a day or so for the enzymes to eat away all the protein in the urine that is causing the odors.

  8. Hi; It's soaked into the carpet and U need to get under the carpet to get the odor out..If theres a pad under the carpet it's soaked also..and the floor..raise the carpet and use your cleaner and keep it raised until dry ( put something under it)..if u can't,  use mr clean on the spot and just pour unduluded alll over the spot until the spot is soaked ( really soaked)!..let air dry, will take a while to dry(maybe days)..after it drys check for odor and repeat if needed..Another way is to cut out the area and clean the piece and floor, pad, etc. Then replace with same piece r new piece. Maybe it will blend in fairly well. Hope it's shaggy!..r under a floor lamp..good luck..
