I have the addressa and I'm not putting it online, so I'll make one up. I'm just putting it down I don't know if this is the right order. And thats what I need the right order. THIS ISN"T A REAL ADDRESS but real cities and stuff.

Name

Yamagata, JAPAN

Tsuruok aCity

Higashihara 53-6

445-384

I made those numbers up that ar after higashihara

  1. Usually the street is before the city as it is here.  Same with the name of the country being last.

    Name

    Higashihara 53-6

    Tsuruok a City

    Yamagata, Japan 445 - 384

In the end, it does not matter, they will read it and figure it out.  Their addresses tend to be at least 4 lines long.  I got a card from Australia the other day that had everything in the wrong order, and misspelled the name of my city and it reached me.  Usually the zip code is enough to find you.

    Good Luck...LS

  2. you write a letter to japan the same way you write a letter

in the U.S. the difference is that you add more stamps b/c

japan is international i can't remember how much you put

    though

  3. The Japanese postal system is so advanced that the order no longer matters.

    The original order was:

    445-384

    Name

    Higashihara 53-6

    Tsuruoka city

    Yamagata

    Japan

but, the Western order is ok too:

    Name ........

    Higashihara 53-6

    Tsuruoka city

    Yamagata

    Japan

    445-384

    Or even letter style, like:

    Name

    Higashihara 53-6, Tsuruoka city

    Yamagata, Japan, 445-384
