Question:

How Do I write a resume for a first job at an Amusement Park?

Okay, so I'm hoping to get a job at the Hard Rock Theme Park that opens in May for the summer, and I filled out the firs application, but then I saw that they wanted you to upload a resume. Which I've never written, because I've never had a job.

It's under the jobs section if you'd like to see it.

Things I'd Specifically like to know:

Is there a format I should follow?

Are there must-haves for a resume?

Should I have a list of references?

Should I do a 'get-to-know-me!' section?

And anything else you can tell me!

  1. I would show you my Resume when I applyed to my local theme park Elitch Gardens, but sadly I lost it...

The BEST thing to put down is any leadership skills you may have, and any experience you have with customer service. References are something you should have down, and you won't need a gettoknowme section.

I don't have the format of it, but I'm assuming your in school. What I did is go to one of the business teachers and asked for help. They were very helpful, and I ended with a good looking Resume.

  2. As it's your first job you do not submit a resume. Just ignore that section and continue.

As far as writing a resume. The format depends on the level and type of job you're applying for. For references I put "available upon request" since information changes over time. And I suggest a hobbies or likes section based on the type of job you're applying for. If it doesn't have to do with the job don't include it.
