  1. This is a loaded question.  

    Professors will study the physics behind the entire process and try to input it into a giant, complicated computer programming device in order that the final result is a model that can detect when/where tornadoes will occur.

    Storm chasers use high tech equipment to take measurements of  many factors like winds, storm motion, etc.. and then calculate it all later to see if we can find out more about how they work.
