  1. go for da feet

  2. The larger the player, the lower the hit.  Listen up here - it's critically important that you don't go in half-speed and timid on a big player - if you do, you'll experience a lot of pain, and he likely won't go down.  Come in hot, fast and hard and ram THROUGH the player as low as you can go.  Always WRAP UP every tackle.  This means not just a secure grip, but the SHOCK of whipping your arms around and onto the player at the moment of impact, which further rocks the runner, and can often cause a fumble. It also assures that if you don't knock him completely out of the play, that a teammate will soon be there to blow him up if he's dancing in circles with you hanging on.  Nothing wears a runner down more than clean-up hits.  Take every chance you get to not "watch 'em down", but "hit to the whistle".  It's the mark of a great defense - and a winner.

    Tear 'em up!

  3. by no means do you want to be an ankle tackler, it just looks bad. the best way to take down a big back is multiple tacklers but you cant control that so if its solo put your shoulder on his thighs and wrap your arms around his legs just below his knees and keep your feet on the GROUND and MOVING then squeeze his legs together. that should bring him down or slow him up enough so you can get help.

  4. The cops seem to have a LOT of success with tazering people first and then tackling them. Give it a shot.

  5. Hit them low of course by wrapping your arms around the legs. One thing to remember is positioning yourself to make the play. I have seen some guys try and put their helmet on the football to cause a fumble but the risk might be a concussion```  ~~~%%%. Just don`t stand there and expect to knock him down. If your a cornerback get an angle on the play and wrap your arms around the legs and twist and turn and hold on so that you can hopefully trip him up enough so that your help can finish the play.

  6. At the knees

  7. Hit them low

  8. hit 'em in the legs and don't let go
