How Do You Become A Big Company Writer?

OK, so I live in Australia and I recently received my bachelor of media, so now I wanna become a writer. I have done stand-up comedy at a club in Melbourne previously and I was told that I was really good (as I was beginning 2 bring in fairly big crowds). So I thought that it would be good to combine my comedic skills with my writing skills, but here in Australia (although I could travel 2 the UK, but not sure about the US, I don't think that I could be allowed due to citizenship and what not) I'm not sure how to get a company like MAD, MTV, Rolling Stone or any big companies (don't have to be comedy) to hire me, could someone help me please?

There is a foundation set up for young Australian artists who wish to migrate to America. It was developed in memory of Heath Ledger I believe. If I find it -I will send it.
