How Do You Block Body Shots?

Hey, in a fight how do you block body shots, especially to the stomach? If your hands should be up by your head how would you block areas like the stomach if someone is aiming there?

I use my elbows and the upper part of my lower arm (:P). It does hurt more than using a glove or open palm, but it lets you throw a punch and/or protect your face while still blocking stomach shots.

I have been kick boxing for over three years. To block a punch lower. You can do what they call a leg check. This is where you bring one of yours legs up to your chest or as high as you can get it. The attacker then will punch your shin or knee. Trust me it hurts them more than you. If the punch is going high put your fists at you jaw line. keeping your arms in (not out at the sides) your arms should be parrel. Then block the punch with you elbow. You might have to raise or lower your arm depending on where your getting punched at. If you really want to take a guy out way bigger then you just do a head lock and his head and hold for about tens secs. The blood to his brain will stop he will pass out then run dont stick around to get hurt more like by his buddies or gang friends. Please this is for self defense only.

The best way not to be hit is not to be where the punch is landing, blocking is good but evasion is also good. If you are a moving target you are harder to hit, thats why boxers move around the ring.

Keep one hand at your midsection and one further ahead higher so you can protect high and low but remember to use 45 degree angle evasion counter techniques.

Keep your elbows tucked into your sides and rotate swivel your torso also when throwing punches your punch should start from your elbow whilst tucked into your side and thrown straight ,hooked or from uppercut.
