How Do You Burn Music Files Onto a DVD?

I can burn them on to a cd.

but i want to burn it onto a dvd as its has more space,

but every time I try it won't let me.

do i have to format the disk or something first?

and if i do, how do i do that? step by step please

You need a program that will burn dvds, and you need a dvd burner. However, if you put songs on a dvd, you won't be able to play them like you do with a cd. You can only store the songs there, like you would on a floppy disc. If you do still want to put the songs on there for storage, get a program, there are lots out there for free, I think my computer came with one, but Nero, Sonic Record, etc will work fine, just follow the on screen instructions. But again, you won't be able to play it like a cd in a cd player, discman or a car.

no you cant put music files on a dvd because it is not formatted to have that type of file on it.you can buy a cd with a higher amount of space.personally i use a 52x burn rate 700mb 80min. it holds about a regular cd amount of songs. but you can buy ones that have more capacity.i recommend you got to best buy/target/radio shack&tell the sales guy that you need a 120min. cd capacity and then buy it.if you are looking for low cost discs you probably need to go to target.they will probably cost you on the upside of $15.hopefully this helped:D
