How Do You Filter Water From a Foreign Country?

I'll be going to a foreign country this summer. Is there like a specific device I can buy to filter the water? I'd also like this device to get past airport security, I wouldn't want it to be confiscated.

Just buy bottled water for drinking, cooking and brushing your teeth.  You will be OK.  If you really need a large amount of filtered water go to REI at http://www.rei.com and go to water filters and water purifiers.  Or go to Cabelas at : http://www.cabelas.com and do a search for water filters.  They have a bunch of them.
