  1. Buy a trainer and a simulator for your PC, learn on the sim and it will save you hours of airtime with your trainer.

  2. check out this site: http://www.rcroll.com . I believe you can find  what you want.

  3. The last plane I was in might have been RC, after all it was flying to Dublin and did have a lot of priests and nuns on board.

Oops!  You didn't mean religion did you?  :)

    *SL

  4. If you don't have anyone to help train you get a RC flight sim. I have "FS One" and I really like it. After you have played around with that for a while and can land without crashing most of the time get yourself a RTF plane. RTF stands for Ready To Fly. This will give you everything you will need to start flying in the time it takes to charge the batteries.

I am an amateur rc pilot and I have balled up a couple of planes even after getting pretty good with the simulator. I would suggest you get an E-Flite T-34 trainer http://www.e-fliterc.com/Products/Defaul... this is what is called a PTS, Progressive Training System. The plane grows with your skill level. As you get better you make small changes to the plane for a new challenge, and level of performance.

If you want to go with gas I would suggest the Hangar-9 Alpha 40 DSM2 trainer http://www.hangar-9.com/Products/Default... The engine is easy to work with and has plenty of power to get you out of trouble.

Both planes that I have sggested come with radios that you can use on other planes so you could hold off on getting a more expensive radio and spend your money on PNP Plug N Play planes when you want or need a new plane.

  5. Im afraid its practice..practice..practice.so dont buy an expensive one to start with.I built my own first three,The engine, and RC reciever were saved each time thank goodness, but i know building your own does take some time, so ,if you cant wait, be prepaired for a few misshaps.

  6. I'm guessing most planes fly a little differently. Of course you control it with a remote control (hence the name "RC") I'm sure when you buy the plane it will come with a set of instructions

  7. You will buy it without a clue as to how to fly it!! JOIN A CLUB!!!!!!! This will get you BMFA Membership and insurance. It will also get you a lot of expertise, advice on the best model, the best radio gear, building, setting up and, of course, flying instruction. Don't try to go it alone. You will be disappointed and it will be expensive. Models, engines and radio gear are not cheap to replace.
