  1. Be confident, smile, and show some personality

  2. as in creating your own, or joining one?

well, for creating your own, you need to have a couple of dancers you know that will be willing to help you establish it, also, you need the connections to preform around as much as you can (i.e. festivals, talent shows, volunteer to dance for seniors, ect). you should also keep a lookout for new people, which keeps the group exciting. oh yeah, you need to be pretty good at a varity of dances too.

for joingin one, you should contact the coordinator and ask what you will need to do @ try-outs. then hire a proffessional dance teacher once a week until try-outs and let her help you and offer advice. thirdly, keep practicing. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT, its true! practice in front of a mirror, for family, and make sure you know the whole routine like the back of your hand. don't practice too much, because that messes with your nerves and you might end up spacing out before try-outs.

    good luck on either!!

  3. Just do your best and try to act positive even when you don't feel like you're doing too good.

  4. if it's a high school dance team, then showing that you're really positive and you're able to learn quickly is a big deal. concentrate at the tryouts and really listen to the coaches... ask questions! and if you're doing a pom routine be very sharp!

if it's a studio team, show a lot of attitude in jazz dances and try to perfect your technique. that's really what they'll be looking for

  5. Go to the practice and follow what they are telling you to do. SHow some personality and shine so that they can see something about you to put you on the team.
