How Do You Make A Long Distance Call?

My moms totally freaks out cuz i have a cell phone, but i use too many minutes of the plan. && my boyfriend lives in a place were to call him it's long distance and i can't call him from my house. does anyone know how to make a long ditance call?

Your mom freaking out is a totally normal response.

Those phone companies are in the business of making moms freak out, as soon as you use too many minutes!!!

You could pay $0.25/minute or more (0.40!) to call the next town because it's "long distance-in state", and then pay only $0.10 for out of state!!!

If your boyfriend would be in Japan or Europe, it would be cheaper to call him!

Your question is not about "how to make a long distance call?" but about "how to make a long distance call that is reasonably priced so my mom won't freak out?"

First, you should be aware of your plan and your boyfriend's plan. Maybe your boyfriend has unlimited minutes or something. Be aware that for cell phones, you pay when you call and you also pay when somebody calls you (those phone companies are making money in and out!). Unlike land lines (your house), where you do not pay when somebody calls you, so your boyfriend could call you on you home phone, land line and he would be the only one paying, or not if he has unlimited minutes.

Synchronize with your boyfriend because only one of you need a good cell phone package.

Maybe your mom can upgrade you. Sometimes a $5/month extra could save $40...

It's like my son, who freaked me out because he had 200 text messages for $5 in his package, but then he did 749 messages for which I had to pay $54.90 extra (749 message minus 200 included in the package = 549 messages at $0.10 each = $54.90).

I promptly switched him to a 1,500 messages package, which cost $10 instead of $5. I'd rather pay $5 extra in the package than pay $0.10/per text which could cost $130!!!

Also, if you have a computer, you can use that (like with Skype), you can even put a little camera so he can see you and you can see him! When somebody calls me on my computer...I never have to pay anything...

So learn about your cell phone package and your boyfriend cell phone package and also your home phone package. I do not call long distance from my house but I know I could have a $2 monthly fee for 0.10/minute or a $5.00 fee for 0.05/minute or a $9.99 fee for 200 minutes included and 0.05 any extra minutes or $25 for unlimited long distance minutes..then you can talk all day long and all night long, all month long, with your boyfriend...for the price of a delivered pizza with tips!!!

This is information your not old enough to have. Sorry. Your only going to run up your mothers bill or get into more trouble. Do your school work and focus on something other than boys. Hes not worth the phone bill.

Well, you can call Onesuites. It's like two cents a minute. Just go to google, and you can get the number off of there. It's really cheap, and I do it all the time.
