    1) drain a few cans of caned chicken and put it in a bowl.

    2) then add as much mayo as you think you want. Some like it really creamy and some like it dry.

    3) then add a little squirt of mustard for a little favor, I know that sounds weird but its really good ;)

  8. Just find a recipe and don't add what you don't want.  Really not that difficult.

  10. Luncheon Chicken Salad Recipe

We like chicken salad but not as a sandwich or with all the extra fruits or nuts that are sometimes added. Here is a basic easy but tasty chicken salad that would be wonderful for a luncheon or supper on a hot night.

    30 min | 15 min prep

    SERVES 2

12 1/2 ounces canned chicken, I used Tyson's Premiere White and Dark Chunk Chicken

    2/3 cup mayonnaise

    1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1/4 cup red onion, chopped finely

    1/4 cup celery, finely chopped

    1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

    1/2 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning

    1/2 teaspoon ground pepper

    1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

    4 romaine lettuce leaves

crouton, lightly crushed, I used sour dough

Drain chicken and place in medium bowl. With a fork break up larger pieces and add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, red onion, celery, lemon juice, lemon pepper seasoning salt, and ground pepper. Refrigerate until chilled.

Wash and pat dry lettuce leaves with a paper towel. Add cherry tomato halves to chicken salad and mix lightly to combine. Lay two lettuce leaves on a plate and spoon on chicken salad, sprinkle lightly crushed croutons on top and serve immediately.

  11. 2 cups cut up cooked chicken

    1 small onion, chopped fine

3 celery stalks, washed & chopped fine

about 1/2 cup mayonnaise (I do 1 to 2 heaping spoonfulls, so this is a guess)

a few splashes of white vinegar

    salt & pepper to taste

Combine ingredients in a bowl, and mix thoroughly.  Best served chilled.

  12. You can use canned or leftover chicken, cut or shredded into bite sized pieces.

Add enough Miracle Whip (or mayo) to make it creamy and spreadable.  Stir with a fork.

This is my basic chicken salad recipe.  I may or may not add other things to it.  I've listed some of my favorites below.

    Optional:

Add diced onion or celery, if desired.  The above recipe with a little diced onion and celery is what was served as an old fashioned chicken salad recipe at a Northern California history museum lunch counter.

You can also add shredded carrots, or diced canned water chestnuts.

As you know, you can add chopped pecans, walnuts, grapes, pineapple, apples, dried cranberries, mandarin oranges, etc. in whatever combination suits you.

Hope you experiment and get it just to your own liking.

  13. I don't put fruit, nuts, curry or Asian seasonings in chicken salad:) .....Basically like you'd make tuna salad.  Mix some mayo & sour cream together to taste;  add salt, pepper, and fresh herbs (oregano, parsley, basil - maybe some sage).  Mix with diced onions & celery.  You can add some minced red and/or green peppers for color, if you want.....Oh, I forgot to add the cooked, cubed chicken too - lol ....  If you're feeling lazy, just mix the chicken & minced veggies with some Ranch dressing.....

  14. Dice or shred cooked chicken. Add enough mayonaisse to make it moist. Add salt and pepper to taste as well as some diced celery for  nice crunch. Simple and delicious.

  15. Just put grilled chicken over a bed of greens with some tomatoes, carrots, and whatever other veggies you want on your salad. If you don't want fruit or nuts, just don't put it on there. If you're getting your salad from a fast food place or a restraunt, ask them to leave off all the stuff you dont want.

  16. let me see  " Chicken salad "  hmm  without fruit and  nuts hmm           take the fruit ANd nuts out and put the chicken in the saladd DUHH       duhh its that easy unless you have no brain smarts  no effence (not trying to be mean but its that easy) but Think befor you do  or better yet Think, use your brain,do the math.
