    4 eggs

    2 tablespoons milk

    1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    8 slices bread

  4. Mix egg (1 for every two slices of bread), milk (1 tbsp. per egg), vanilla and cinnamon (1/4 tsp. each per egg)  very well in bowl, heat frying pan over medium-high heat, melt small amount of unsalted butter in pan (salted butter or margarine will brown too quickly because of the salt content) dip slice of bread in egg mixture and place in hot pan, brown both sides in pan, do not try to turn until it is completely done on the first side or the bread will tear.  Add more butter to the pan as you make the toast as needed.  Serve with butter, maple syrup, and powdered sugar

  5. 1 cup half-and-half

    3 large eggs

2 tablespoons honey, warmed in microwave for 20 seconds

    1/4 teaspoon salt

8 (1/2-inch) slices day-old or stale country loaf, brioche or challah bread

    4 tablespoons butter

In medium size mixing bowl, whisk together the half-and-half, eggs, honey, and salt. You may do this the night before. When ready to cook, pour custard mixture into a pie pan and set aside.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Dip bread into mixture, allow to soak for 30 seconds on each side, and then remove to a cooling rack that is sitting in a sheet pan, and allow to sit for 1 to 2 minutes.

Over medium-low heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a 10-inch nonstick saute pan. Place 2 slices of bread at a time into the pan and cook until golden brown, approximately 2 to 3 minutes per side. Remove from pan and place on rack in oven for 5 minutes. Repeat with all 8 slices. Serve immediately with maple syrup, whipped cream or fruit.

  8. Canadian French Toast

3 Slices of day old french bread thick sliced

    3 eggs beaten

    1 tbsp cream

    1 tbsp Maple Syrup

    1/2 tsp vanilla extract

    1/4 tsp cinnamon

    1/8 tsp nutmeg

Whisk all together, and dip each piece of bread into the mixture,

grill on a breakfast grill or fry pan that has been sprayed with Pam cooking spray or butter

  9. Tips:

slice French bread at an angle to make larger slices.

French bread will hold up better than other bread.

don't use egg whites in batter because it makes the bread soggy and doesn't cook well.

dip only the sliced surface of each side of the bread slices, so you won't have any uncooked egg on the crusts.

use an electric griddle or skillet if you have one

1 loaf french bread sliced into 3/4 inch slices

    4 egg yolks

    1/2 cup milk

    1/2 sugar

    1 t cinnamon

    1/2 t vanilla extract

    oil or butter

mix all ingredients except for bread in a shallow dish

heat griddle or skillet to 350 degrees F

    lightly oil griddle

dip bread in batter on both sides

grill bread till brown and eggs are done 2 or 3 minutes

    turn ,repeat
