Question:

How Do You Make Pancake Sauce?

I have seen pancake sauce and would like to make it for my family with pancakes obviously.

Maybe with lemon or butter or sugar or syrup maybe.

I could use fruit too.

    INGREDIENTS:

    1 cup sugar

    1/2 cup light corn syrup

    1/4 cup water



    3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    1 (5 ounce) can evaporated

    milk

    DIRECTIONS:

    1. In a saucepan, combine the first four ingredients. Bring to a boil over medium heat; boil and stir for 2 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes. Stir in milk. Serve over pancakes, waffles or French toast.

    INGREDIENTS:

    1 cup sugar

    1 cup water



    1 1/2 cups mashed

    unsweetened strawberries

    DIRECTIONS:

    1. In a saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil. Gradually add strawberries; return to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve over pancakes, waffles or ice cream.

  4. Pancake syrup, yes. But I've never heard of a "pancake sauce".  What was it supposed to be like?

  5. Not sure what kind of sauce you may be talking about.  I have used everything you mentioned as well as peanut butter with syrup or just your favorite jelly.

  8. You're probably thinking of the stuff they sell as ice cream sauces** - comes in various flavours from maple to toffee or fruit flavours, but the favourite is still real lemon juice and caster sugar!
