How Do You Mate Savannah Monitors?

I Have Had My Female Monitor for about 5 years and i bought another male monitor about 10 months ago and they live together in the same tank and get along great but i was wondering how to mate them is there a mating season? or does the tank need to be at a certain temperature? what am i doing wrong our tank is 6ft Long 2ft wide and 2ft high i have been wanting them to mate for the longest time but nothing has happend is there special stuff i need to buy for them like places to lay there legs or is there some kind of diet they need to be on Please be specific

  1. if they are not breeding in regular conditions, you will then have to hibernate them. What you're going to need to do is seperate them first. Then you would need to drop the temperature in their cage atleast 10F and also decrease their hours of daylight to 10hr or less. You will do this for 4 to 6 weeks, and stop feeding them during this time period. yOu will actually want to stop feeding them before you start the brumation b/c you do not want any undigested food to fester in their stomachs. After the brumation, you put them back together and heat the cage up and they should began to breed. Usually brumation works best in winter, mainly b/c of the subtle differences in pressure, etc caused by winter but it can be done during summer. you would just need a very cool area to put them
