Question:

How Do You Set Up Your Laptop To Share Your Computer's Internet ...?

I used to know how to do it ... a little. I did it once with another laptop, but that was a while ago. Right now, I have a BellSouth (AT&T) router hooked up to my computer. I'm not sure which set of numbers is the one that I enter into my laptop to set it up. The problem is, I can't think of what to click to enter everything.

I tried going under start and connect to, and I tried going under internet properties. Nothing familiar comes up. I called Best Buy, because the Geek Squad guys used to help me out sometimes with a few simple directions. Unfortunately, they won't do it now; they tell me that they can come over to my house and do it, but they can't tell me over the phone! Hmmmm ... I'd probably be paying them a fortune to travel 100 miles just to click start and a few simple buttons, and put in an access code - or whatever you call it - from the router.

It's the same way now with the Top Dog guys at Circuit City ... guess it's all about the money, huh?

  1. you have to join the current network.  for more information on how to do it, go to http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Free_...

  2. If You Have A Router You Should Be Able To Click On Wireless Icon On The Task Bar In The Right Hand Side Bottom Corner Of The Screen, Search For The Connection And Connect To It. That Is How Mine Works. When I Am Out I Search For Other Networks And Connect When I Don't Even Know Who They Belong To.

  3. This is called network bridging, and below are the steps.
