  1. Rip the tape in half down the middle.

  2. I'm a fanatic about the way I tape up my twigs, but try this:

I like to start on the butt end of the stick as if you're going to tape normally, and when you get about 1 inch laid down, twist the tape tightly, essentially turning it into a rope or cord for a few feet.  You then tightly wind the "rope" around until you get the size and shape of the k**b/handle/grip you want.  The key to finishing this is to then use "gauze" tape (any good hockey shop will know exactly what this is) over what you've just done, I usually use about 2 courses of the gauze.  Finish that with one ring of regular tape at the bottom end (towards the blade) of your handle, and you're set to go.

This makes a really durable, sticky handle for your anchor hand, and it's been really effective for me, better than anything else I've tried.  Every month or so, when it's getting ratty, tear off the ring and the gauze (leaving the rope part intact) and redo it.  Good luck!

  3. Over lap the tape. They do it so the stick does'nt slip as easily.

  4. rip the tape in half when you get to the k**b

  5. Just don't use as much tape when making the k**b.
