my soul mate is not my husband. So I think a soul mate is totally different from your husband. My soul mate and I go way back. We can talk about anything and we can be apart. My soul mate is my first and me best friend. We know when each other needs to talk just to talk. We know how to lift each others spirit if we needed too. We can talk about anything and laugh and not be uspet. We both have our own relationships and are happy with our current partners. So i do believe in a soul mate may not be the one that you end up marrying.

There are misconceptions of soulmates all over the place.  A soulmate is not just ONE person or that ONE person you end up with for life.  Soulmates come in all shapes and sizes and for all purposes.  ANYONE who's had a strong impact on your life or has made a difference IS a soulmate for you.

I met my husband and knew in an instant he was going to be my husband.  I can't explain it.  People who've gone through it know what I am talking about.  

If you're meaning "the one" for you, that's called a twin flame, twin soul, split apart and more depending on your culture and it is extremely rare to cross paths in any lifetime with them.

I think that's what a soul mate is. it's someone who completes you as a person, has the qualities that you dont have to help you through things. For instance My wife is terrible with direction and mapas and couldn't navigate her way out of a paper bag with a GPS. I on the other hand am very good at that and don't need GPS or anything, She's great with managing money and bills, where as I am not so good at it.

So we work with each other she picks up where I fall and vice versa,

There are different theories on soulmates. Some people think that it has to do with reincarnation, like your soulmate is somebody  you've known in many different lifetimes and have loved many times, and that’s why the first time you meet them you feel like you've known them forever.

I, personally, don't believe in reincarnation, so I don't put much weight on the term soulmate. I do believe, however, in very deep and natural connections. Do we have just one "soulmate?" Well, I don't really believe it, but (sigh) it's such a romantic thought.

My ex-husband and I had a very deep and easy connection -- or so I thought. Now we're still friends and he's still very easy to be around, but I'm not in love with him anymore, and I would imagine that if we were soulmates, we'd somehow long to be together forever.

Anyway, if you believe in soulmates and you believe you've found yours, don't let anything I've said sway you differently. All my best.

The truth is, that is exactly what all men and women are meant to be - soul mates.  But, this is only if they understand why this is the case, meaning both men and women seek to understand their true nature and why they are different.  

There is no denying that there are vast differences between men and women, and those differences are necessary, by nature’s design.   If we look to nature, we see that in the animal world, the more highly evolved species cannot survive if there is not participation and cooperation between both sexes.  The species would quickly become extinct, as both male and female are needed for reproduction and survival.  The same is true for humans, since humans are, after all animals, and are subject to the same laws of nature that govern the animal kingdom.  

The only solution for all of humanity, both men and women to achieve happiness with each other, is to learn where we came from, why we are different as men and women and then how to achieve equilibrium and harmony with each other.  Nature operates under the principle law of equilibrium, and men and women, in their present state, are acting against this law, sensing this imbalance as unhappiness and disharmony with each other.  

Becoming soul mates means that both the man and woman strive to see their purpose in fulfilling each other and by living in accord with their true spiritual roots.  This is what it means to be real men and women.  As long as we run from or try to deny our true nature, we will never achieve happiness with each other.  What is a spiritual root?  It is the ultimate source of our existence; it is where we came from and the place where we need to return.  This is the place where men and women can come together to be true soul mates.

Your soulmate is a soul that love you unconditionally.  I don't think your spouse is always your soulmate...it can be your dog, your cat, your sibling, your kid, etc.   You'd be surprised where you will find your soulmate.  I think my mom is my soulmate...she and I are two peas in a pod...its sick really how much we get along.

I personally have not met my soul-mate. (But I am hoping I will soon.LOL)

However a very close older friend of mine, married his soul-mate. My friend said he was with a buddy of his, and they were going to his new friends house. When he walked in the door, there she was. Their eyes locked and everything stopped. And everyone noticed! In fact it caused a little problem, because the girl was some kind or Mexican or Spanish royalty. My friend said that second when their eyes met they both knew. They both knew they had found their soul-mate and they were in love. The girls name was Christine. My friend and her did marry. My friend says the time he spend with her (before she died in a car crash) was the best time of his life.

So I really believe that is how love is. I believe it is instant. I never believed in love at first site before I met this guy, but I do now. Because he told me a couple more examples of this happening that he witnessed, all the marriages are still together.

I do think that you can grow to love someone!

And I do think you need/half to be living the right kind of life for love at first site to happen. Other wise you will just walk right by him/her and never know it.

My soulmate.  The first date, he barely touched my lower back and I got chills.  I still feel those chills after 6 and 1/2 years.
