How Do "Think Tanks" and "Policy Institutes" Make Their Profit???

  1. They charge fees for their services, or are set up by a third party who finances the operation.

    They s***w someone or something with irrelevant idea's that sound good at the time, but in reality they are usually not.

    As with all good things if they are truly a good idea it doesn't need a think tank or anything else to visualise it, because one good mind, with vision, is usually good enough to make it happen, and that is all you need.

  3. Many policy institutes are "non-profit" in that they do not pay out dividends to those who set it up but nearly all strive to make an operating surplus (profit). They devise service offerings and charge for the work done in order to cover their costs and put something away for growth and development of the institute. Thus they tend to be like any other consulting firm only that partners don't share the profits but profits are ploughed back.

  4. They spend all day thinking of ways to make money. Or maybe they do consulting work for other companies.

    I have some good policies for sale. And this month we are having a sale on tanks that I thought of.
