With gas prices these days, I have really cut down my driving. I usually just use my vehicle twice a week to do errands, etc.

  1. Budgeting has become a very important part of my life. I do it everyday by tracking exactly what i spend. I use an on-line tool to track my spending and budget my account. This lets me categorize my spending and create reports on how much I spend on categories each month. So for gas, i was able to figure out my monthly spending and act accordingly. This is the online tool I use: http://www.obudget.com

  2. Luckily I live in NYC.  We mostly use the public transportation.

The last time I put in gas was in June 8 (almost 20 day) for just $20, and I still have about half of that left.

NYC has the most extensive public transportation system in the world.

But sadly for us, it isn't about the cost of gas that is hurting us.  It is the higher cost of EVERYTHING because of the higher cost of transporting them to stores.

    Good Luck...

  3. Carpooling, maintainance of your car and don't accelerate or slam those brakes hard.

  4. well first of all, i have to drive so, can't really cut back on my driving, but unlike when gas was 3.00 or 2.00 right now i actually drive pretty conservatively. no more jack rabbit, or 90mpg on the highway, no more tailgates lol.

When i go to store, i look at the price tag of everything i buy like three million times.

  5. Well advice i'll give you is drive 5-15 kmph/mph under the speed limit to save heaps of gass!
