How Do you get a college scout to look at you for volleyball if you are still in high school?

I live in a small town where there aren't really any chances of a scout coming to my town. Can my parents call a scout, or can someone else? Because my coach is a jerk and wouldn't call one for me. Help!

I'm from a small town and my coach is a jerk too..your parents can call the scouts..send video tapes to the scouts..do u play on a club team? if so have that coach call one..coaches from other team might send letters of recommendations for you without you knowing..they might even be at tournaments without you knowing!...good luck!

My father was a Division I collegiate coach. Usually, collegiate coaches were alerted to talented players by either the player's high school coach or the player's club coach. If either coach had a good relationship with the college coach, then s/he would make a trip just on courtesy.

Additionally, my father would be contacted directly by the players. The best way to get attention is to make a short video. The first five minutes usually has the candidate player in street clothes, talking about him/herself, his/her interests, etc... Then the next 20 minutes would show the player performing each of the techniques in a controlled drill: setting, bumping, serving, spiking, and blocking. Lastly, the player would include the video of a recent match.

So, either get your coach to contact the college, or make a video of yourself.

You have to go out and let the know who you are. They will not just randomly come to a game and see you. You have to show you are interested. Go online and get the coaches e-mail. e-mail them a letter telling them who you are, where your from, your position, and any awards you have won in volleyball. If you tall tell them how tall. If you can jump high, put that in there too. they will get back to you and then they will prob ask you for a skills tape, so if you dont have a skills tape, you need to make one.
