Well if your under the age of 18 how does

The Agent thing work?

I know that your mom has to sign the contract....But what else is there to it?

  1. I don't believe you can be an agent under 18 years old. Usually people get into this field after college. It would be a very hard position to be in trying to sell insurance to people that are much older than you. I know if a teenager was trying to sell me a complicated insurance or investment product they would have to be extremely well educated and knowledgeable for me to even consider it. This is a very hard business for college educated people to succeed in, in fact only 2 out of 10 new agents make it past the first year.

    I would recommend working in a P&C office for a comapnmy like Allstate or State Farm to gain some experience.
