I live on marylands eastern shore where the muskrats are extreamly common. I trap them in the fall to make extra cash lots of people here love the meats but i also stretch the furs and ship them. I personally do not like to eat muskrat they are very gamy and have lots of little bones in the meat, they also smell terrible when you cook them, but thats just me, and people also like to eat the brains in them as well.
