I think I want to be a Green Funeral Director. I need more information. How do I start the process? Do I have to go to undertaker school? Is the land already state/fed land or do I have to acquire it?

  1. I like your aim. However, you seem to have two things mixed together. The cemetary or burial ground is not usually owned by the funeral director. The director is in charge of preparing the body for burial (or cremation) and for arranging the funeral service. This does require training. The cemetary is usually private land or may belong to a religious group. Only military cemetaries are owned by the federal government.

  2. I remember reading in Parade or something like that several years ago regarding "natural burial". I like the idea.

I think for me personally - funerals are too expensive...let me give something back - even at the end...
