  1. One they dont have to share with other MP's

  2. One that is registered to an individual and not used to ferry the general public about. (you could give a friend/friends a lift and still have a private car)

  3. A 'private car' is a car (i.e. a motor vehicle with 3 or 4 wheels designed to carry up to 8 occupants, other than a motor cycle & sidecar combination or a vehicle designed primarily for another use and adapted since [such as a bus which had 50 seats but has had 44 of them removed - that is still not a car].) which is primarily or wholly used for 'social domestic and pleasure' purposes as opposed to use 'in the course of a trade, business or profession'.

  4. An automobile that is purchased without taxpayer money, nor registered to a federal, state, or local agency or jurisdiction.

  5. One that is registered and insured as private?

  6. One that is owned by them and them alone, which therefore is excluded from all high fuel, tax, and insurance costs which all the rest of us end up paying.

  7. My car, a 2008 Ford Mondeo, is a private car, it is owned by me.  Part of the price of the car and it's running cost(s) belong to the UK.gov in the form of tax.

Therefore, since I am paying for my car by monthly installments over the next 3/4 years and because part of the price of that car (tax) belongs to the UK.gov., the car, while being classified as 'private', is in effect part owned by the UK.gov.....

    Hope that's clear. . . .
