  1. Century Park Hotel is indeed within walking distance of the Victory Monument BTS station, the skytrain is a quick and easy way to get around bangkok with single trip tickets costing between 15-40 Baht.

To travel from Victory monument to Siam, it will be only 3 stops (about 20 Baht) on the bts line in the direction of On Nut station.

The Major shopping area in Siam is right next to the station which includes Siam Paragon, Siam Discovery Center, Siam Center.

Another popular shopping area is MBK which is one stop from Siam (different line) and getting off at the National staduim BTS station (15 Baht).

  2. Take a taxi.

It's too far walking, unless you like a good workout in a hot climate. A taxi will set you back about Bt 50-75, at the most. That's two dollars. Brings you from door to door. Relax! You're on a holiday.

  3. Century Park Hotel is not far from Victory Monoment BTS Station, I stay there before. It is only 5 Minutes to BTS Station. I recommend taking BTS to Siam Square. It is only 4 Stations away, about 10 Mins

Victory Monoment ->Phaya Thai -> Ratchathewi -> Siam

The cost for the BTS is about 25-30 Baht per way.

  4. Victory Monument is one of the stops on the skytrain, so your have no problem going to all the major shopping areas in Bangkok.

  5. The Century Park Hotel is on the corner of Din Daeng Rd. and Ratchaprarop Rd.. As Kuhn Bob said, you have access to the Skytrain at Victory Monument which is about a km. away up Din Daeng Rd. from the hotel or you can take a bus right from your hotel along Ratchaprarop to the Pratunam area where there's tons of shopping or to across the street from the Central World Plaza, the largest mall in Bangkok and less than a five minute bus ride. From the Central World Plaza Mall, Siam Square and Siam Paragon are just a few hundred meter walk up Rama I Rd.  All of those areas are within 3-5km. or so from the Century Park and very easy to get to.
