  1. GPS is a Global Postioning System.  With it you can spot your train.  By giving the train No.  you can see a map will rail network and a dot showing the position of your train on its journey.


  2. It is not GPS technology.

    There are several GPS systems being tested but GPS is not accurate enough to know for certain if a train is on a specified track or the one adjacent to it.

    In cloudy weather GPS can be off by 15 or 20 feet and that is not close enough.

    The systems in use for railway signals (that I am aware of) all use sensors built into the rail, so that way there is not mistaking exactly where and what track a train is on.

    Anti collision technology is simply a system of tracking trains and making sure they are separated with built-in safeguards and ways of stopping the trains if the engineer fails to take appropriate actions.
