What up Eric704,

I'm going to give them a 4 to 6 (and right now leaning towards the 4).  The Clippers always look very legitimate on paper- but right now there are so many intangibles.

They probably had the largest overhaul of players in the offseason- so the Clippers will need some time to develop some chemistry. Also keep in mind that they lost Brand and while Davis may able to make up for Brand's loss statistically- it's a different (no-pun intended) brand of play.  

Also the Clippers starting lineup is made of 3 veterans:  Davis, Camby, and Mobley- all who the Clippers need to stay healthy to make any sort of serious run.

Thornton and Kaman - are solid.

Eric Gordon is going to need some time to develop.  And you wonder if adding guys like:  Ricky Davis and Jason Williams (are they going to be distractions in the locker room, etc.)

So while i think the Clippers look really good on paper and talent-wise- i think that in the West making the playoffs will be a large task for them- and if they don't make the playoffs- it'll be a 4 because they may add another talent- but they will also be one year older and they are very dependent on their older stars to carry the load.  Too many question marks- and margin for error in the West is minimal.  Not hating- but that's my opinion.  On paper they have the talent to be in the playoffs in the West- but right now with all these question marks looming i'm leaning towards the Clippers not making the playoffs which would make it a disappointing year for their fans.

So i will give you a simple answer,clippers will ALWAYS be the second franchise in LA. Your team fails becuase you lost brand and maggette to us and philly. You took our nucleus but its the CLIPPERS.

A 6. They have alot of new faces and no one knows how there offense will be without Brand.  However they have players that complement each other's games so it's all about chemistry.
