I have been dealing with physical and emotional abuse for a year now and I can not take it anymore. I'm only 16 but I know this will help me live a better life. How hard is it?

  1. if you are dealing with abuse, simply go to the nearest police dept and ask for child protective services.  They can place you in a safe home.  The process you are looking to go through is EXTREMELY difficult, and LONG- you'd probably be 18 by the time it was over, and this is NOT the best way to go if you are TRULY being abused.

  2. It's pretty difficult, and not all states have a mechanism for emancipation.

The states that do, YOU need to prove that you can live as an adult would - meaning you have a job and can support yourself. And you don't need anyone to support you. Do you have a job?A Car? A place to live? Money? Remember, the burden of proof is on YOU to show the court that you can manage on your own.
