sky is only an illusion created by scattering of light at day time/At night stars and planets are visible in dark sky.

The breathable atmosphere ends about 8kilometers above the surface. Then air gets thin slowly/Even at 400 or500 kilometers up,there is very thin gases which make drag on the satellites.So there is no strict boundary for sky

Satellites orbit at about 250 miles so there is no atmosphere that high.

  Anything over 100 miles is virtually void of atmosphere.
