  1. Your delete problem is not caused by a virus* (although the file itself might be part of one- the behaviour of the browser suggests you've got an infection of some kind. Run an anti virus program (I suggest the free avg http://free.avg.com/)).

    To delete:

Locate the file you want to delete, right click on it, choose "properties" and uncheck the box "read only".

If the file's hidden & you can't locate it, go to the control panel "folder options" and check "show hidden files and folders" & try again. You might find you can do this with the folder the file's in, or you might have to do each file inside the folder individually, then delete the folder.

The reboot in safe mode idea above is a good point as this exe might be running at startup.

There are loads of apps that you can use to check what programs are running at startup. I use Spybot S&D http://www.safer-networking.org/ because it's a free anti spybot app I've been using for years that has diagnostic tools like a list of apps that run at startup as a bonus.

*Why is it that if someone has a simple problem on their computer, lots of people start screaming "virus!"?

  2. Reboot your computer. As soon as it's back on, hit F8 on your keyboard. That should take you into safe mode.

(It'll look weird, but don't worry)

Search for that folder again, and try deleting it. It should work.

  3. ok dont worry about this, your computer dosnt have a virus or any sort of problem. the simple reason why it wint delete is because the file you are try to delete is currently IN USE with your computer. This is what happens when i try to uninstall a program i have currently running on your pc. it tells me to close the program down ten try to uninstall it.

    try the following steps

    STEP1

1# click start then run and trype msconfig and click the services tab

2#  now click disable all then click apply then ok

3# now try deleting the file

    STEP 2

1# antvirus.exe means that you installed a virus scanner

    2#click my computer

    3# now click C: drive

4# look for anything refering to the name antivirus then delete it

5# now try and delete the file

Try to remove it with this

  5. Well you have a virus and unfortuantly these cant be deleted by pressing delete, so you have to get some good anti-virus software and download, then do a scan and it will find the virus and then it will get rid of it for you.

  6. Press Ctrl Alt Del key to bring out task manager.

End the process for AntivirusDoc.exe if it is running.

    Try to delete the file.

  7. This "may" help. Right click on C and go to the properties dialog. Take notice if the read only box is checked. If so, uncheck it and click OK. You may be asked if you want to apply this setting to all sub-folders etc.; click yes. No guarantee, but it sometimes works.

  8. The program on your computer sounds like spyware. here are some spyware that pretend to be anti virus and often pretend that they are scanning your computer and finding alot of viruses and trojan horses or tell you that your computer is infected while you are surfing the internet ( probably if you are surfing with Internet Explorer). They say that they will remove the viruses if you upgrade to the full version. Vista Anti virus 2008.

    You should:

    1. Download Spyware Nuker with the link below http://www.nuker.com/products/swnxt/bin/...

2.Do a quick scan of your computer with it.

    3. Manually Delete anything you find.

    4. Next Do a full scan of your computer and repeat step 3

    OR

buy the full version and let it spyware nuker delete it for you

(I was able to delete the spyware manually from my computer)

Some of the spyware may be in the registry. To open the registry

Press Start > Click Run > Type "regedit" > Press enter

Then delete it from the registry.

If you find cookies just delete your browsing history from your browser

AFTER you remove the spyware from your computer.

Also delete anything you find in the registry first. If you dont what you delete from your hard drive might come back from the registry. If you can't delete it from your hard drive then

    1 - Restart your computer

2- press F8 while it is booting

    3 - Select safe mode

4- go to your hard drive and remove it

5- restart your computer in normal mode

That worked for me when i got a fake antivirus on my computer last month.
