  1. Play simon says of have cut and paste pictuers to put on a skelaton or somthing...

  2. Pair them up and have partners trace around the other person's body on large paper. Then have the student add eyes, ears, nose, hair (maybe using yarn). They can draw parts in and color with crayon, or you can practice cutting by letting them use construction paper to cut out eyes and stuff.

I used to have a generic head and shoulders pattern that I used and students added their features and a shirt. I used this to display their special papers.

So you could develop a generic body-sized pattern. Or build a body from "parts". Use a generic head and neck pattern and have students trace around it and add their features. Then have shoulders and trunk pattern. Then arms and legs patterns. The kids can have fun building a body.

It would be a good idea to incorporate some musical activity, like the hokey-pokey or some Hap Palmer or Wiggles music.

  3. Play a game! Like first you have to let them know the body parts, then you start the game of where is the body part located?

  4. Funny- a few already mentioned Simon Says.

I did this with 2nd graders, but teaching the actual names of body parts.

"Simon says put your hands on your cranium"

"Simon says put your hands on your patellas"

"Simon says put your hands on your clavicle"

We had a lot of fun.

    Other ideas:

    Body part bingo/body part memory

Label body parts on post-it notes "Pin the part on the body" like pin the tail on the donkey

If you haven't visit www.enchantedlearning.com it has some great resources for Kg!

    Good luck and have fun!

  5. Use 'Simon Says'
