There are some creams (Hydroquinone) that will help but take a while to work. Lasers are the best. They zap away any brown spots as well as laser  acne scars. Not cheap but worth the pretty skin underneath.

For dark acne marks use lemon juice. Before applying, clean the marks with warm water and dab 1 tsp of lemon juice into a cotton ball and apply it on the marks and leave it for 10-15 minutes. Peels or microbermabrasion will work in most cases you can buy tca peel solution on line for about 25.00 dollars it work great on brown spot but you have to make sure you stay out of sun and use sun block it dose not work on white spot from acne greet on brown spots
