First off no this is not because it's popular I want to do this.

I would love some suggestions about what I could do for this world. Also some information on why it's good to the things you ahve listed. If you have any good website's on this matter that will help me accomplish my goal of a "green" life then that would be great.

Kisses.

  1. Dont use any products with CFCs and use energy efficient light bulbs

  2. to go green i...

recycle everything (paper, plastic etc) and encourage others to use the recycle bins at school. usually if people have tons of paper to throw out in school i usually take it and recycle it for them. im just trying to make the world a better planet. and i also use those energy saving light bulbs. they last up to 7 years! i also wear recycled clothes and have tote bags that are made of canvas. also if you click on the discover tab on yahoo answers and subscribe they send you planet healthy stuff. =D

  3. replace incandescent light bulbs with CFL's

Turn off shower when "soaping up".

Don't let water run while brushing teeth.

    Load dishwasher b/4 turning on.

Install  drip irrigation system on timer.

Turn off lights when leaving room.

    Un-plug TV's when not using.

Check w/your local utility provider.  Google their web-site.

  4. Great questions!  I wish I knew more about you because your age and living situation makes a big difference on what topics I would list first.  So I'm going to keep this super super simple and refer you to a couple of great sites:

    as well as

    http://greenhomesforsaleonline.com

With that out of the way... if say, you are a teenager, there are a few things I would start right now.  Simple, simple things that don't seem like much, but truly are.

Buy glass water bottles from e.g. Ikea and use and reuse that for your water.  They are great with a tight 'cork' style lid that doesn't leak.  Not only will you save all the landfill from your plastic water bottles, apparently plastic has been found in the malignant tissues of breast cancer, the source most likely the use of plastic water bottles.

Secondly, buy a 'driving' coffee mug from Starbucks or wherever you buy your coffee.  They will gladly wash it for you each time you bring it in and it saves hundreds of cups from ending in landfill per year.

Lastly, as I could literally write for ever!  Make sure to recycle all old cell phones, computers etc.  There are many places that allow you to drop off.  I don't know which state/city you are from so definitely look it up online.

  5. Don't eat other sentient beings that have to eat ten times the amount of food to become your one dinner (if you get me).

Not gonna be easy, but I love you for it and so does the sentient being.

  6. try using those new lightbulbs that use less energy.

turn off the lights when you leave the room

when you are done with banana peels and orange peels and stuff like that make a decomposing pile in your back yard.

    try and drink natural stuff.

recycle cardboard and your empty bottles.

try and drink and eat foods in recycled cardboard

eat alot of natural food. not processed

  7. Don't use mainstream cleaning products and personal care items they have Toxic chemicals that are bad for us and our waterways. Anything that says disinfectant on has a pesticide in it which causes sancer and we pour it down or drains consistently.  Use green cleaning and safer products.
