I am a philatelic begginer and I want to increase my stamp collection, but I don´t have money, so I'd like to receive free mint or used stamps directly to my home.

  1. I had a collection once and I started off by asking friends and family for stamps, if you work, ask for the stamps off of letters and the suchlike, you'd be amazed at what people may give you!

  2. Asking friends and family for stamps and envelopes they receive in the mail is a great way to acquire used material.  Also ask at your church, bank, landlord, and other businesses nearby.  Getting mint stamps that way is a bit touchy, though, since asking for mint stamps is almost the same as asking for cash.  Better to save up your pennies and buy your mint stamps at the Post Office or on-line at the USPS web site:  http://www.usps.com .  Another way is to find people to trade with.  Check out the American Philatelic Society at http://www.stamps.org/directories/dir_Lo... to find out if there's a stamp collector club near you.  You may also find someone to trade with by mail.  The whole point is to have fun building a collection you enjoy.
