I am a 17 yr old in 11th grade playing football.... I have been to my coach before to quit but he "convinced" me to stay.... My reasoning for quitting is because, I wanted to go through High School not bored out of my mind and I thought football was gonna do it, but now I go to football and sigh like I dont want to be there because I dont.... The first summer 2 a day is tomorrow and I want to quit, I lost my chance during the week because I couldent drive (no car) but the only thing I have left to do is call my coach and quit over the phone, how in the world do I do this without sounding like a complete @$$

  1. Call your coach, and tell him exactly how you feel about the situation. A phone call is much better than not showing up. You aren't doing anything wrong, you're just making a lifestyle choice that is totally up to you. Besides... High school is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and there is no reason to do something that isn't making life exciting or fun. Football isn't something that's for everyone...

  2. do a Sonny Bill Williams and skip the country.

  3. Just call up your coach and tell him nicely. Just explain to him how you feel about football, and say that you are going to quit.
