  1. Here is the full bus schedule from Jaco:

  2. A bus would take 8 hours, a simple domestic flight is only 55 minutes from San Jose 's Juan Santa Maria International Airport to Puerto Jimenez. There are also flights coming from Tobias Bolanos International Airport in Pavas and it takes around 1 ½ hours depending on whether it stops in Quepos or Golfito.

But, if you want to take the bus:

Express buses (257-4121 in San Jose or 771-4744 in Puerto Jimenez) leave San Jose daily at 6am and noon from Calle 12 between avenidas 7 and 9. The trip takes 8 hours; the fare is $5.50. Buses depart Puerto Jimenez for San Jose daily at 6 and 11 am.

If you want to take the plane:

Sansa (221-9414; http://www.flysansa.com) has flights to Puerto Jimenez daily at 6 and 10:15am and 1:55pm from San Jose's Juan Santamaría International Airport. The flight takes 55 minutes; the cost is $78 each way. Sansa flights depart Puerto Jimenez for San Jose daily at 7 am and 2:45pm.

  3. well, you can rent a bus too.

  4. The bus ride will be long.  Go to Quepos.  Then Dominical. Then Palma Norte then a bad bad ride on bad bad road to Puerto Jimenez.  Or go to Golfito and take a ferry boat acroos the Golfo Dulce to Puerto Jimenez.

  5. The best way is go to San José, at the tobias Bolaños airport and take a fly to puerto jiménes, there is a map:
